Nestled in the Swiss Alps, The Cambrian Adelboden is an upscale, boutique hotel with alpine-style details located in the small village of Adelboden in the Bernase Oberland district.
This traditional Swiss mountain village is home to less than 3,500 residents and sits on a terrace looking south to the Engstligen waterfalls between the Engstligenalp and Silleren alps. This was the perfect hotel for a quick weekend getaway.
The rooms are bright and contemporary in design with wood furnishings and furnished balconies with mountain views. The suites include a separate living room with sofas and an office space.
The hotel offers complimentary buffet breakfast, which is served in the rustic restaurant on the bottom floor. Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet was very limited in options and the only a la carte option was fried eggs or an omelette. The service during breakfast was not very good either as we constantly had to look for a server to refill our tea and coffee.
The hotel also offers a stylish bar, a cozy lounge and a relaxed terrace with scenic views, along with a gym, a spa, and indoor and outdoor pools. We opted for a 80 minute couples massage as soon as we checked in. It was amazing. Afterwards, I felt like I was floating on a cloud. We took to the outdoor pool, which is heated and offers the most amazing views.
The staff was very friendly, professional and attentive. At reception, they informed us of all the local events and activities and which ones were closed or unavailable.
The Cambrian Adelboden is what Swiss dreams are made of. Extraordinary service, breathtaking views and tons of amazing amenities. I would book this hotel over the infamous Villa Honegg every single time.
