ME by Meliá. It Becomes You.
As a part of my road trip journey with Ford of Switzerland, I got a chance to visit one of the world’s capitals of cool, Milan, Italy. I’ve been to Milan a few times now, but this was my first time staying at ME Milan Il Duca.
Under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand umbrella, ME by Meliá properties are urban, boutique hotels meticulously designed where “design, art, music and service fuse for a sublime time that transcends accommodation.” One of two Meliá properties in Milan, ME Milan is aligned with this aesthetic in mind, designed by renowned architect, Aldo Rossi,

There are several room types from standard doubles to 135 sqm suites with a pool table and dining room. I stayed in a “Mode” room, which was extremely spacious. The décor and interior was very sleek and modern, and the bed was extremely comfy (the pillows are to die for). You could control everything in the room, from the lights, to the temperature and blinds by digital devices.
The level of service from the staff is unmatched. I think they should rename the hotel to “YOU by Meliá” because that’s who they cater to – YOU! There’s always someone to help you with any request, from dinner reservations to airport transfers to booking tours.
When I arrived to my room, there was a cool quote written on the bathroom mirror. It’s the unexpected treats that really stand out (especially when you practically live in hotels).
ME Milan is situated within the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is pretty centrally located, only a 15 minute walk to Milan’s main attractions, like the Galleria Vitorrio, the Duomo di Milano and the Teatro alla Scala. Public transportation is easily available, there’s a metro stop just around the corner and there’s a tram stop right out front.
The Dining Facilities
Hotel guests and locals alike can enjoy a light bite in the lobby, an aperitif on the garden terrace or a New York-inspired dinner at the ever-glamorous STK restaurant. I dined at the STK restaurant, which was a nice break from the Italian cuisine I’d had all week. Of course, people come for the steak, but I opted for the Black Cod. It was nice, but the citrus touches were a bit over-powering.
On the rooftop, lies the Radio Bar, which is one of Milan’s trendiest bars as it offers panoramic views with an upbeat energy. With a thriving night scene and yummy cocktails, you won’t even need to leave the hotel.
Breakfast is also served on the rooftop, opposite Radio Bar. Take my word for it: don’t miss the breakfast! It is definitely in my top 5 hotel breakfast buffets.
The Overall Experience
Overall, my stay at the ME Milan Il Duca was excellent. For the price point, the ME Milan was a far better value that the Armani Hotel. Plus, the atmosphere and vibe was more inviting than the Armani Hotel. ME Milan is now my go-to hotel when staying in Milan. Note: if you are driving by car, be sure to make a reservation for parking in advance.
